Adventure

Awesome hike last night. Saw chinajue, crystal frog, and an assortment of other frogs and spiders. Photos will follow by way sharing from the person with the camera. Also, learned about some of the noises I'm hearing at my place in the jungle of Costa Rica. This am. I saw a black weasel go across the road, would have missed it had I been in a car or on the motor bike.

Saw an ant eater while hiking

While on the trail, we call Mango road, I saw an ant eater, sorry the pic is not that good. Will have to get a better camera. You can see his under belly up in the tree.  Also, found the spring where we get all the water.

Potential solar

I'm investigating possible locations for solar on my property in Costa Rica. I've taken photos every hour a couple of days ago. Have been ambivalent about investing, found out this am that to have power at my place, when tied into the hydro-power station I will need to do the investment in the batteries and inverter which is about 80% of the total, just the panels (when hooked up to hydro) would be the back up.

Too expand on the fishing

Well I was all geared up, hadn't really done any ocean fishing. Mostly tended the boat when I was a kid for my step-dad while he scuba dived. I had a great time, all though it was a little warm at times. Any way we left the dock at Sierpe, Costa Rica at a little after seven am. Headed down the Sierpe river to the Boca (which is the mouth of the river) to the open sea. It was low tide, therefore there were breakers to go through. I was very pleased with the captain (there are only three in the boat including the captain). He held back exercised patience, obviously he was watching the swell, and figured when to go through, it was absolutely amazing right through no rough water smooth. It was a beautiful day, calm almost like glass. Marc caught a fish in the first five minutes off the rocks, not a good eating fish, but the tradition is to always keep the first one. I caught the next one, and it went back in for another day. Not much luck around the rocks, so headed over to a GPS location caught five more fish about two to five miles from Cano Isle. Great just being out there. Called it a day around three pm and headed back in. On the way back up the river went through really close quarters in the Mangroves, it's a short cut. I was really glad some one knew the way. Fresh fish for diner that nite.

Time

Well time has flown by and I have decided I'm to isolated here in my cabin. So I've taken a few breaks and gone into town and stayed with friends. I have been able to get a mobile internet connection and go fishing. I'll be going to Granada, Nicaragua to get some traveling in. Then I'll go to Monteverde, Costa Rica to check it out. I may apply for a home stay program to learn more Spanish.
